This is a 212-item self-report inventory covering 24 character strengths, 8 to 11 items each. It is an IPIP public-domain item set constructed to represent VIA character-strengths constructs — it is not the copyrighted VIA-IS instrument itself and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the VIA Institute on Character. One source item (in the Vitality/Enthusiasm/Zest facet) had missing item text in the maintainer's own data file and was excluded rather than guessed at, so that facet has 8 items instead of the source's intended 9.
