Institute Terms

These terms apply to institutes — schools, universities, or organizations — that create and administer student or staff accounts on PsiQ.
1. You are responsible for the accounts you create & Verifiable Parental Consent
When your institute adds student or staff accounts (via manual entry or bulk CSV roster uploads), you act as the primary data controller/fiduciary and are responsible for:
- Mandatory Parental Consent for Minors (DPDPA 2023): Under Section 9 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA 2023), processing personal data of any child (under 18 years of age) requires verifiable parental or lawful guardian consent. Educational institutes utilizing PsiQ for underage students warrant and certify that they have secured and documented verifiable consent from parents/guardians before initiating student psychometric testing or data collection.
- Prohibition on Harmful Profiling: Institutional assessments must strictly serve developmental, educational, or counseling guidance and may never be used for behavioral tracking, commercial targeted profiling, or punitive academic sorting detrimental to a child's well-being.
- Lifecycle Management: Promptly deactivating or offboarding student and staff accounts when enrollment or employment concludes.
2. Tenant isolation is a guarantee, and a shared responsibility
Every query for your institute's data takes your institute ID as a required parameter at the database layer — another institute's administrator cannot query your data, and you cannot query theirs. This is architecturally enforced, not just a policy promise. In return, you're responsible for your own account security (a compromised institute-admin login is the one realistic way this protection could be bypassed) and for not sharing your administrator credentials.
3. Seats, licenses, and bulk import
Your subscription plan sets a maximum number of students and psychologists your institute can have active at once. Bulk CSV import processes each row independently — a malformed row is skipped and reported, not allowed to abort the rest of the batch — but you remain responsible for reviewing the per-row results and correcting any that failed.
4. Student and staff data you're responsible for & RPwD Act Disclaimers
Enrollment numbers, grade/year, and any other institute-provided student details you upload remain your institution's data to manage. You can export or remove records consistent with your institutional retention policies and the DPDPA 2023. Furthermore, institutional leaders and educators acknowledge that psychometric screening or cognitive test results generated on PsiQ:
- Do not constitute official certification of Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD), intellectual disability, or neurodevelopmental disorders under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act, 2016.
- Cannot replace multidisciplinary clinical assessments mandated for CBSE/ICSE/State Board academic exam accommodations or concessions.
5. Psychologists added under your institute
A psychologist or counselor you add works under your institute's tenant and can only access the students you have explicitly assigned them to evaluate. The institute is responsible for verifying that any in-house psychologists conducting clinical psychodiagnostic evaluations hold valid credentials (such as CRR registration with the Rehabilitation Council of India under the RCI Act, 1992, where applicable). Removing a psychologist's institute affiliation immediately revokes their access to student records going forward.
