1. How to delete your account
Sign in, go to your account's Privacy settings, and choose to delete your account. You'll be asked to re-enter your password and type "DELETE" to confirm — a deliberate two-step confirmation so this can't happen by an accidental click.
2. What actually happens
Deletion anonymizes your personal information rather than erasing every record outright:
- Your name is replaced with "Deleted User."
- Your email is replaced with a randomly generated placeholder.
- Your password is rotated, so the account can never be logged into again.
- Your assessment results, sessions, and orders remain in the system, but are no longer linked to any identifying information about you.
This mirrors how most professional testing, clinical, and financial platforms handle account deletion — because an institute may have a legitimate audit obligation, or a psychologist a professional record-keeping obligation, that outlives your individual account, while your personal identity is still fully removed from it.
3. What is permanently and immediately removed
Your login credentials, your real name and email as previously stored, any saved payment method references, and your ability to access the account in any way.
4. What may be retained, and why
Anonymized result records and audit-log entries may be retained where an institute, a psychologist, or PsiQ itself has a legal, contractual, or professional-standards reason to keep them — for example, a clinical record obligation or a payment record required for tax purposes. These retained records never carry your name, email, or other identifying detail once anonymized.
5. Exporting your data first
If you want a copy of your data before deleting your account, use the "Export my data" option on the same Privacy settings page — it produces a JSON file containing your profile, results, sessions, orders, and notifications.
6. If your account was created by an institute
If you're a student or staff member added by an institute, you can still request deletion yourself from your own account — deletion is a right that belongs to you, not just to whoever created the account.
7. Grievance Redressal & Legal Requests (DPDPA 2023)
Under Section 12 of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA 2023), you have the right to request correction, completion, updating, and erasure of your personal data.
