By creating an account or using PsiQ in any way, you agree to these Terms. If you're a student, employee, or client whose account was created by an institute or psychologist rather than yourself, these Terms still apply to your use of the platform.

1. What PsiQ is — and isn't (Emergency & Medical Disclaimer)

PsiQ provides psychology-related assessments, cognitive psychometrics, and IQ testing batteries for educational, research, screening, and (where explicitly designated) professional use. Each assessment displays its own intended-use and evidence-status label — Standardized, Validated, Research Instrument, or Educational / Experimental — reflecting the empirical evidence and normative standardization supporting that instrument.

No assessment on PsiQ is a substitute for professional psychiatric, psychological, or medical diagnosis, treatment, or clinical judgment. Under the Mental Healthcare Act, 2017 (MHCA) of India, clinical diagnosis and treatment planning remain the exclusive responsibility of qualified, licensed mental health professionals. PsiQ does not practice medicine or clinical psychology, and digital reports generated on this platform do not constitute statutory disability certificates under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act, 2016 nor standalone medico-legal evidence in judicial proceedings.

2. Eligibility, accounts, and minors (DPDPA 2023)

Under the Indian Contract Act, 1872 and Section 9 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA), you must be at least 18 years of age and competent to contract to register an independent individual account on PsiQ.

Minors and Child Assessments (Ages 4 to 17): Where assessments calibrated for children or adolescents (such as developmental IQ cohorts or educational scales) are taken, they must be administered under the direct consent, initiation, and supervision of a parent or lawful guardian, who provides affirmative verifiable consent on behalf of the minor in compliance with Section 9 of the DPDPA 2023. Where student accounts are provisioned by a school, college, or university, the educational institute certifies that it has secured valid, verifiable parental/guardian consent prior to enrolling the minor student.

You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activities conducted through your account.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to: share your account credentials with unauthorized individuals; attempt to access, scrape, or infer another user's results or another institute's data; misrepresent your identity when taking an assessment on someone else's behalf without statutory legal guardianship or explicit authorization; tamper with or attempt to manipulate assessment timers, item banks, or scoring engines (all of which are validated and enforced server-side); use the platform to generate or store defamatory, unlawful, or harmful material; or attempt to reverse-engineer, bulk-extract, or scrape psychometric test items, normative tables, or proprietary platform source code.

4. Role-specific terms & professional qualifications (India)

Institute administrators are responsible for the accuracy of student data they upload, for obtaining verifiable parental/guardian consent required under Section 9 of the DPDPA 2023 before adding minors, and for managing seat and license allowances under their institutional subscription.

Psychologists and Clinical Practitioners practicing in India represent and warrant that they hold valid and active professional registration required under Indian law — specifically with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) under the RCI Act, 1992 (holding an active Central Rehabilitation Register / CRR number as a Clinical Psychologist) or registered under the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP) Act, 2021. Non-clinical practitioners (school counselors, organizational psychologists, psychometricians) agree to utilize instruments strictly within their professional and ethical scope of competence and not to issue formal clinical or diagnostic statements on the basis of screening scores alone. PsiQ's verification badges confirm credential checks but do not constitute PsiQ vouching for a practitioner's individual clinical competence.

Researchers are responsible for obtaining appropriate Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC) / Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval and informed consent from all participants before conducting empirical research on the platform.

5. Payments and subscriptions

Paid individual assessments are charged once through Razorpay at the price shown before purchase. Institute, psychologist, and researcher subscriptions are period-based with manual renewal — we do not automatically charge a saved payment method when a period ends; an unrenewed subscription simply expires, with any unused bundled credits forfeited as described on our Pricing page. 6. Intellectual property

Assessment content, scoring methodology, question banks, norm tables, and the platform software itself are the property of PsiQ or its licensors. You may not copy, redistribute, publicly reproduce, or reverse-engineer assessment content. You retain ownership of any content you submit (such as case notes or study data you enter), and grant PsiQ only the license needed to store and display it back to you and to those you've authorized to see it.

7. Disclaimers

Assessments and reports are provided "as is." We do not guarantee that any assessment's results are clinically valid unless that assessment is explicitly labeled as a validated/standardized instrument with supporting scientific documentation. Where norm-based percentiles or stanines are shown, they reflect the specific normative sample data an assessment author has actually entered for that instrument — never a universal or assumed standard, and fields stay blank rather than showing an invented number where no norm set exists.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PsiQ and its team are not liable for any decision made, or harm arising from a decision made, based on an assessment result — particularly for assessments explicitly labeled as educational, research, or experimental rather than clinically validated. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising from your use of PsiQ is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months preceding the claim.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify PsiQ against claims arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the platform, or (for psychologists, institutes, and researchers) claims brought by your own clients, students, or participants relating to your professional conduct rather than a defect in the platform itself.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, including the account-lockout mechanism that already applies automatically after repeated failed login attempts as a security measure rather than a punitive one. You may delete your own account at any time as described in our Privacy Policy.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of PsiQ will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located where PsiQ is registered to operate.

12. Severability and entire agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and PsiQ regarding your use of the platform.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time as the platform evolves. Continued use of PsiQ after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
