Scale Overview & Construct
10-item instrument on self-appraisals of wearing a face mask during the COVID-19 pandemic, in two parallel 5-item sets: Prospective (how you think you would feel wearing a mask) and Retrospective (how you actually did feel). Covers pride in contributing to public health, self-consciousness about being judged, feeling silly, fear of being perceived as dangerous, and concern about racist aggression. Each item is read on its own — there is no combined total score, since each captures a distinct consideration.
