Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: September 21, 2026
This is a structured draft. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer, and refund terms in particular have real regulatory implications in India (the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, and GST treatment of digital goods) — this page is worth prioritizing for actual legal and tax review before launch.
1. Before you purchase
Every paid item — an individual assessment, a subscription plan, or a direct credit top-up — displays its exact price in Indian Rupees before you confirm payment, along with what it includes (assessment duration, subscription period and bundled credits, or credit quantity). Please review this carefully; completing payment is treated as confirmation that you reviewed and accepted these details.
2. Individual assessments (pay-per-test)
Because a paid assessment becomes immediately accessible upon successful payment, individual assessment purchases are non-refundable once the assessment has been started (i.e., once you've opened the first question). This mirrors how digital content is generally treated under the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 — the right to cancel typically does not extend to digital content once delivery/access has begun.
A refund may still be issued if: a payment was charged but access was never granted due to a technical error on our end; a duplicate charge occurred for the same assessment (our checkout flow is specifically designed to resume a pending order rather than create a new one on a refresh or back-button press, but if a duplicate ever occurs, it is refunded); or the assessment was purchased but never started/opened, and a request is made within 7 days of purchase.
3. Subscriptions (institutes, psychologists, researchers)
Subscription plans are period-based with manual renewal — there is no recurring auto-charge to cancel. If you choose not to renew, your subscription simply expires at the end of its current period and access reverts to the platform's default (unsubscribed) state; any bundled credits remaining from that period are forfeited at expiry, as disclosed on our Pricing page.
Mid-period cancellation of an active subscription is not eligible for a prorated refund for the unused remainder of the period — the subscription remains active and usable through the end of the period you already paid for. Switching from one plan to another is treated as a fresh purchase of the new plan; the prior plan's remaining value is not credited or refunded.
A subscription refund may be issued where a payment was charged but the plan was never activated due to a technical/verification error on our end, or where a duplicate charge occurred for the same billing period.
4. Purchased credits (pay-as-you-go top-ups)
Credits bought directly (₹1 = 1 credit, separate from any subscription's bundled allowance) are added to your wallet immediately after payment is verified and do not expire. Because they are usable on demand rather than tied to a delivered good, a top-up is refundable only if: the payment was charged but the credits were never added to your wallet due to a technical error, or a duplicate charge occurred for the same top-up. Once credits from a top-up have been spent (reserved against an assessment assignment), that specific spend is not refundable.
5. How to request a refund
Contact us at our contact page, or through the in-dashboard Support Chat if you already have an account, with your order/invoice reference and the reason for your request. We aim to acknowledge every refund request within 2 business days and resolve it within 5 business days.
6. Processing time
Approved refunds are issued back to the original Razorpay payment method used, and typically take 5–10 business days to reflect in your account, depending on your bank or card issuer's own processing time — this window is set by the payment network/bank, not by PsiQ.
7. Invoices
A real invoice is generated for every completed purchase — individual assessment orders, subscription payments, and credit top-ups alike — and is viewable and downloadable (as a print-ready PDF) from your account's Billing page in the dashboard. GST itemization is not yet built into invoices; where GST registration/collection becomes applicable, this page and our invoices will be updated accordingly rather than showing an invented tax figure in the meantime.
