What these tests measure
ADHD is characterised by ongoing patterns of inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity that affect daily life. The scale here is an IPIP (International Personality Item Pool) ADHD screening scale, which asks how well statements about focus, organisation and self-control describe you.
ADHD can only be diagnosed through a clinical evaluation that looks at your history, your current functioning and other explanations for the symptoms, so treat your result as a prompt for reflection.
Who it is for
Teens and adults who suspect attention difficulties, and parents or partners curious about attention-related traits. Children need to be assessed by a paediatrician or child psychologist.
How to use your result
Your score is a snapshot of how you have been feeling or behaving recently. It is meant for self-reflection, education and research and is not a diagnosis or medical advice. Where a scale has no published norm entered on PsiQ, we do not invent one, so you will see raw scores rather than made-up percentiles.
Frequently asked questions
Can I be diagnosed with ADHD online?+
No. A diagnosis requires a full clinical assessment by a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist. An online scale can only show whether your traits are worth discussing with one.
What are common signs of adult ADHD?+
Common signs include difficulty sustaining attention, forgetfulness, disorganisation, restlessness, impulsivity and trouble finishing tasks. Many other conditions, including anxiety and poor sleep, can look similar.
Is procrastination the same as ADHD?+
No. Procrastination is common in everyone. It can be a feature of ADHD, but it can also come from stress, perfectionism or low motivation.
