What these tests measure
The most established framework in personality psychology is the Big Five: openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness and neuroticism (emotional stability). You can take a quick 50-item marker set, a longer 100-item version, or in-depth inventories such as the IPIP-NEO, which breaks each domain into six facets.
For more specialised views you can also try personality models representing other frameworks, including the 16 Personality Factors, the Six Factor and Big Seven models, and the VIA character strengths.
Who it is for
Anyone curious about themselves, students of psychology, and people exploring career or relationship fit.
How to use your result
Your score is a snapshot of how you have been feeling or behaving recently. It is meant for self-reflection, education and research and is not a diagnosis or medical advice. Where a scale has no published norm entered on PsiQ, we do not invent one, so you will see raw scores rather than made-up percentiles.
Frequently asked questions
Are these the same as MBTI or the 16 personalities test?+
No. MBTI and similar type quizzes sort people into categories. The Big Five treats personality as scores on continuous traits and has much stronger scientific support.
Which personality test is best?+
For most people the Big Five 50-item test is a good start. If you want detail, take the IPIP-NEO, which gives scores for 30 facets.
Does my personality change?+
Personality is fairly stable in adulthood but changes gradually with life experience.
