What these tests measure

The Depression Anxiety Stress Scales (DASS-21 and DASS-42) include a separate stress subscale that captures tension, irritability and difficulty relaxing. Coping scales such as the Brief Resilient Coping Scale and the Coping Mechanisms and Coping Inventory for Stressful Situations look at how you respond to stress, and the Distress Thermometer gives a quick single-item check.

Who it is for

Students, working professionals and caregivers who want to check their stress and coping style.

How to use your result

Your score is a snapshot of how you have been feeling or behaving recently. It is meant for self-reflection, education and research and is not a diagnosis or medical advice. Where a scale has no published norm entered on PsiQ, we do not invent one, so you will see raw scores rather than made-up percentiles.

If you are struggling: please talk to a doctor or a qualified mental-health professional. In India you can call Tele-MANAS at 14416, a free government mental-health helpline. If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if my stress is too high?+

If stress affects your sleep, mood, health, concentration or relationships for weeks at a time, it is worth doing something about it. A high questionnaire score is one sign, not a diagnosis.

What is a coping style?+

It is the way you usually deal with pressure, for example by planning, seeking support, avoiding the problem or venting emotions. Some styles help more than others in the long run.

Can stress cause physical symptoms?+

Yes. Prolonged stress is linked to headaches, sleep problems, muscle tension and stomach upset. See a doctor if you have physical symptoms that worry you.
