The original instrument was designed for clinician-administered use as part of a full diagnostic evaluation, not standalone self-screening. Scoring uses the RAADS-R's own published item-response coding: most items score a point only when marked "True now and when I was young" (indicating a lifelong pattern); 17 positively-worded items are scored in reverse, where only "Never true" scores a point.
